Frequently asked questions

• Is Deposit Guard really free to start?
  Yes. You can sign up, create a property, add rooms and take as many photos as you need without paying anything. You only pay when you hit "Generate Report" and choose your plan at checkout.
• Why do I have to pay to generate my report?
  Report generation is when your photos are compiled into a structured, tamper-proof report and stored securely in our system. That infrastructure costs money to run, and we'd rather charge a fair, one-off price than lock you into a subscription.
• Do I need a card to get started?
  No. You can create an account and start documenting your property straight away. Payment is only taken at the point you generate your report, and we accept all major credit and debit cards securely through Stripe.
• How long do I have access to my report?
  Completed, generated reports remain available on Deposit Guard indefinitely. You can share your report via a secure weblink at any time, or download a PDF to share and store it that way instead.
• What happens to unfinished reports?
  Reports that are not finalised and generated are automatically deleted after 7 days. You'll receive a warning by email 48 and 24 hours before this happens.
• What's the difference between the two plans?
  The single report (£9.99) covers one property condition report, either at move-in or move-out. The bundle (£14.99) gives you two reports for the same property, so you can document both move-in and move-out and have before and after evidence if you ever need to dispute a deduction.
